MFA

Multi-Factor Authentication

OCTOBER 1ST 2025

Online Banking security update beginning October 1st, 2025

WHAT IS MFA?

MFA or Multi-factor Authentication requires users to utilize more than one verification process when logging in to an account. Generally we consider the “first factor” your password, the second factor typically utilizes a temporary code… very temporary usually only good for 30 seconds to 10 minutes. This is sent via text message or email.

This additional step helps reduce the risk of unauthorized access by a bad actor, even if your password has been compromised.

STEP ONE

Update your information

  • Cell Phone Number
  • Email

MFA uses the PRIMARY account holders contact

STEP TWO

On October 1st you will be asked to register your contact method whether it is your cell phone or email to receive your MFA code.

Additional Security

Password requirements are changing

  • Character requirements are increasing from 8 character minimum to 16 character minimum.

 *TIPS & TRICKS

  • Use a password generator (there are many online and they are free to use) Here is one we recommend: 1password.com/password-generator
  • Using numbers in place of letters such as replacing the letter E with 3 or S with 5 can help.
  • Throw in characters such as ?!
