Filer Credit Union Donates $1,370 To Local Organizations With A Fun Friday Program $2 Jean Day Friday’s Helps Local Organizations During A Tough Year.
Manistee, Michigan – Casual Friday’s at Filer Credit Union throughout the 2020 year were “Casual for a Cause” raising $1,370 for local organizations. This year, the staff at Filer Credit Union wanted to have fun with the idea of Casual Friday’s, so they actually charged $2 per employee who wanted to wear jeans for the day. Those two bucks were donated right back to local organizations.
“We have always tried our best to support our local community and this was one more fun way we could do just that.” says Patty Preuss, CEO of Filer Credit Union, “When we started 2020 we had no idea how it would take off, but our incredible staff had a lot of fun with this.”
The Filer Credit Union team selected 4 area organizations at the beginning of the year. The “Casual for a Cause” funds collected each quarter were donated to these area organizations. The Filer Credit Union Staff were able to raise $485 for the Manistee Co. Historical Society, $155 for Homeward Bound, $438 for Adopt a Family-Manistee Co. and $292 for the Michigan Veterans Alliance.
“We were thrilled to be able to do this for our area organizations, especially during the challenges of the 2020 year,” says Patty Preuss, “we hope to continue programs like this in the future.”
